Shopify Just Opened B2B To Every Plan — Here's What You Get (And What's Still Plus-Only)

As of April 2, 2026, Shopify has rolled out native B2B features to all plans — Basic, Grow, and Advanced — at no extra cost. This was previously a Shopify Plus exclusive, and it's a pretty significant move.

If you've ever had a wholesale buyer reach out and you had to either point them to a clunky third-party app or handle everything manually over email, this update is directly for you.

What's now available on all plans

Every Shopify merchant, regardless of plan, now has access to:

  • Company profiles for your wholesale buyers
  • Up to 3 custom B2B catalogs with tailored pricing (assigned via Markets)
  • Volume discounts and quantity rules
  • Vaulted credit cards so returning buyers can check out faster
  • Payment terms (net 30, net 60, etc.)
  • ACH payments (U.S. merchants only)

This means you can run both your DTC storefront and your wholesale channel from the same Shopify admin. No plugins, no separate wholesale portal, no spreadsheet-based pricing lists.

What's still Plus-only

The foundational features are now open to everyone, but Shopify Plus retains a few things for more complex B2B operations:

  • Unlimited catalogs for customer-specific pricing
  • Direct catalog assignment to individual companies and locations
  • Partial payments and deposits

For most merchants just starting to explore wholesale, the features available on Basic/Grow/Advanced should be more than enough. If you're running a large-scale B2B operation with dozens of custom price lists, Plus is still the way to go.

Why this matters

B2B e-commerce is a $36 trillion global market, and for many Shopify merchants, wholesale opportunities often come organically — a retailer finds your product, a buyer reaches out after a trade show, a local store wants to stock your brand. Until now, handling those requests natively on Shopify required a Plus subscription starting at $2,300/month.

The practical impact here is that a store on the $79/month Grow plan can now set up a professional wholesale experience where buyers log in, see their negotiated pricing, and self-serve orders — without the merchant having to upgrade to Plus or bolt on a third-party wholesale app.

How to get started

Head into your Shopify admin and look for the B2B section under Customers > Companies. From there, you can create company profiles, set up catalogs with custom pricing, and configure payment terms. The setup is straightforward and mirrors what Plus merchants have been using for the past few years.

If you're running a brand that's been doing wholesale informally — taking orders via email, sending invoices manually — this is worth exploring. Having your wholesale buyers self-serve through a proper storefront tends to increase order frequency and reduce the back-and-forth significantly.
